Basis for France visit, November 2013
Sustainable development takes into account several parameters.
Since the publication of the "Brundtland" in 1987, sustainable development is designed as to be based on three pillars on a strictly equal footing:
1. Environmental
2. Economical
3. Social
1) Natural Capital:
Natural capital refers to natural resources (renewable and non-renewable), such as minerals, plants and animals, fossil fuels (oil, coal, gas, uranium, etc.). Biosphere.
The visit on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 will aim to discover Cassis and it's natural heritage.

Economic capital represents all goods and services produced by man.
On the Mediterranean coast, fishing and recreation are very important. Users must respect the environment. We'll see how the coastal economic activities fit together to best protect their space.
The visit on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 will aim to observe the port of Marseille (which has several facets) and it's activities.

3) Social capital:
Social capital includes not only the level of education of a population or of forming a labor force but also all social institutions (regardless of their field: culture, health, safety, etc..) That contribute improved productivity. On the Mediterranean coast, fishing and recreation are very important. Users must respect the environment. We'll see how the coastal economic activities fit together to best protect their space.
In the broad sense, social capital therefore includes:
- human capital (people, knowledge, know-how, training, etc..) and relational (human relations and bonds, trust, etc.).
To recognize land-based pollution, this is what we propose in the workshop on Tuesday, 5 November afternoon.

Thanks to it's water system, the villages belonging to the Provence landscape and have a particular biological heritage and raises awareness for the preservation of these fragile areas , agricultural and forested. Activities around the water and the river is not new ... and have left their mark on the landscape , contributing to its specificity. From field trips , photographic and cartographic images on local and nearby landscapes, various documents ,students will study the local hydrography and its impact on the landscape. They compare their historic heritage with those of European partners. This project involves the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes from the common core. The fountains of Aix -en- Provence city "water and art " reflects past around water activities.
